Our Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is the ease the financial burden of having a child living with cystic fibrosis while providing emotional support to the family and spreading awareness of the disease.

Founded in 2012 by Kelly Colbert and her son, Jack, Blue Caboose Children's Fund began with the goal of supporting children and families living with cystic fibrosis (CF) and continues with this mission today.

Through our firsthand experiences with this progressive disease in family members, friends, and those in our surrounding communities, we understand the significant ways in which CF affects the child and the challenges it brings to the entire family.

That's why we are committed to achieving our mission!

Education

With our public education and community awareness programs, we raise funds to assist families with everyday expenses like groceries, travel and household payments, which can quickly accumulate while a loved one is receiving treatment.

Community

We've designed parent and caregiver networks in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas to help families address ongoing struggles, share about lifestyle changes, and most importantly, find trust and hope in a community that understands this difficult journey.

Care

Our Caboose Comfort Totes, Back-to-School Assistance initiative, and toy drives aim to encourage and support children who spend much of their time in the hospital and out of school.
