Caboose Comfort Totes
Your family’s first hospital stay after a CF diagnosis can be terrifying. At Blue Caboose, we’re here to support you and your loved ones through this initial process by making an effort to visit all children admitted to the hospital and providing them with Caboose Comfort Totes.
These totes are our way of letting children know that they are not alone in experiencing this life-altering journey. Each custom-made tote is filled to the brim with basic necessities and fun items to bring comfort to your family’s extended hospital stay. Most families spend at least two full weeks in the hospital, when admitted.
In search of a group volunteer project? We’ll provide the tote and all your group needs to do is fill it up!
The financial and medical obligations that accompany cystic fibrosis can overshadow the joy of the holiday season.
We host toy drives throughout the year and co-host a special holiday party during which parents can “shop” our toy workshop for their children. Our hope is that every family will be able to enjoy the holiday season without the added worry of affording gifts.

Parent & Caregiver Dinners
Cystic Fibrosis can be a very isolating disease for the child as well as the entire family. With our Parent and Caregiver Network, we aim to help families cope with challenges, adjust to lifestyle changes, and most importantly, find hope.
Our monthly Parent & Caregiver Dinners in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas allow CF-affected parents, caregivers, and community members to share experiences, best practices, and positive thoughts with one another.
We invite you to join our close-knit community that understands your struggles and triumphs on this very difficult journey.
Back To School Assistance
When a child with CF spends long periods of time in the hospital, returning to school can be financially challenging for the family.
Every year, Blue Caboose provides children with CF and their siblings with backpacks full of school supplies, in addition to back-to-school clothing if needed.
Public Awareness Presentations
Cystic fibrosis is a battle and we’re committed to helping families face this disease as well as inform others about it.
We regularly present CF public awareness programs to:
- Community organizations
- Religious groups and churches
- School groups
- Community events
We’re also available to speak at schools on behalf of children with CF and their families to educate classmates and staff about CF.
